Lecture Series: South Africa Update & Winetasting

Award-winning PBS and CNN Television Journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault was a National Correspondent with the McNeil-Lehrer Report and NPR Chief Correspondent in Africa. She will describe her history in South Africa and her interviews with Nelson Mandela and update us on the political, economic, and social situation in the country today. Charlayne's husband, Ron Gault, will discuss South African wine and the history of the varietals that they produce, including suggestions for wine pairings.

The program will be in the elegant, wood-paneled music room in the historic College Hall, and attendees will be able to sample several wines, along with specially paired hors d’oeuvres. This event will be free for Sarasota World Affairs Council members, but $20 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

There is room for only 77 attendees, and reservations will be recorded in the order that they are received.
