The Sarasota World Affairs Council and Northern Trust Company will present Rogelio Novey, international development specialist in U.S.-Latin American Relations and former loan officer atthe Inter-American Development Bank, who will discuss The Panama Papers.
The program will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2016, at 6:30 pm in the Sainer Auditorium on the campus of New College of Florida, 5313 Bay Shore Road. The lecture is free to the general public, but reservations are suggested.

Novey possesses more than 30 years’ experience in Latin American affairs, including in Panama's Foreign Service, where he participated in negotiations leading to the Panama Canal Treaty of 1977. He served as chief of staff and executive officer to the deputy secretary general of the Organization of American States and pro-bono director of the Museum of Modern Art of Latin America. In the United States and Panama, Mr. Novey has had a rich career in the private and business sectors and served as a loan officer at the Inter-American Development Bank, where he collaborated on regional development projects in Central America. From 1996 to 1999, he was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors, representing Panama and Venezuela, as a proponent of a successful program to increase the IDB's technical assistance to less-developed Latin American and Caribbean countries.
